Name: Simple Scans.

Welcome to Simple Scans.

I am Izirae (and I am a FEMALE. Last I checked. ;-;), the co-founder, editor, admin, (anything but translator)-er of Simple Scans. While I’m bragging about myself, I will also add that I modified this WordPress blog and customized the forum. I discovered Simple Scans along side my colleague, if you will, Zyki.

I’ve had many people asking me about the history of Simple Scans. And to put it simply…the reason Simple came to be is pretty much as follows:

Zyki: “Hey Izirae. I’m Zyki. I saw that you were interested in starting Jio to Ougon to Kinjirareta Mahou, and I want in. Let’s make a group.”

Me: “OK.”

That’s it in a nutshell.

…OK, maybe there were a couple more TECHNICAL details involved, but nothing juicy. xD

Before we started Simple in Dec 2009, I was a solo scanlator. I had my own group which you may know of, simply named Izirae Scanlations. My first major project was Skip Beat! I started that way back in the day, e.g. August 2009, when the group scanlating at the time was taking too long to update. I learned how to edit, navigate three different versions of Photoshop, and a lot of other nonsense, over this past year.

But enough about me. Zyki started out in Red Hawk Scanlations, I do believe. I did not have the…opportunity to know Zyki very well before he retired. But owning and building up Simple with the help of my trusty staff was definitely awesome sauce.

As for the name Simple, that whole ordeal went like this:

Zyki: “Hey, we kind of need a name for the group…”

Me: “OK.”

Zyki: “How about Simple Scans?”

Me: “…OK.”
