  • Absolutely NO asking for status on ANY manga. We will keep you up-to-date as much as we can, but you may NOT ask about when this or that is coming out. We’ve had too many people asking the exact same question repeatedly within less than 24 hours, and it’s tiring. Read before you submit a comment, and scroll down to look for answers in the Chatbox FIRST.

Why did you choose the name Simple Scans?
Hahaha…don’t really know how to answer that one. ^ ^; Really, we simply choose it because it’s…Simple.
That’s a horrible pun, but it’s also the sad truth. We like the Simplicity of our scanlations, and the name should be only fitting.
Nevertheless, Simple is nice, so we’re glad we went along with it. ♥ [top]

Can I upload your releases to online reading sites?
Yes, you may. But make sure our releases are not ALTERED in any way at all (Everything stays, credits too). Our releases must be provided as is and most importantly FREE-OF-CHARGE to the public.
When uploading our scanlations to external websites, you MUST follow our delayed release guidelines, found here. [top]

Using our Scanlations.
We allow international groups (non-English) to use our scans as long as the first two pages, the CREDITS page and the RECRUITMENT page, are within the release. They must be located somewhere within your release.
Violation of this policy will result in a warning (and don’t believe you can fly under the radar; you will be found out).
With enough infractions in this area, this privilege will be revoked.
If you use our scans in any way, you MUST keep the credit pages in tact.
We put a lot of effort into our scanlations. Discovering that some groups aren’t even following this simple policy is just disrespectful and lazy.
English groups are forbidden to use our scans.
With all this in mind, our translations are reserved for US only. You have no right to them, whatsoever.
However, with permission from the translator, non-English groups may use them after we have released the respective manga; and after the 24 hour delay.
A change of policy: If you are re-translating, you must request permission from an administrator.
Too many people have been abusing our benevolence. [top]

Using our RAWs.
RAWs that we use and are not found on public sites are OUR RAWS.
Please do not ask permission to use them, as they are scanned for us by our personal scanners.
However, you may assist us by donating to help with the cost of shipping the RAWs to us. [top]

When is the next release of whatsit coming out?
When it comes out! Please please PLEASE, do not bother us or hassle us about releases.
We are working our fastest to get them out to you, but being nagged does not help the matter.
In most cases, the manga may not have even been released in Japan, much less shipped to America (or Europe, wherever). We have to receive our shipping of the manga, THEN scan it in, and THEN scanlate it.
It can take quite a while, but usually, we’re pretty on top of it.
Please keep in mind that we DO have lives, and school, etc. They are in fact a priority!
This is merely a fun activity, not an occupation; therefore we create our own deadlines. So please, have some patience! [top]

You guys are behind on ___________. When are you going to get caught up?
Same answer as the last question. PLEASE DO NOT ASK. We are working as fast as we can!
In most cases, it’s because we don’t have the RAWs, or we are waiting for the shipping to come in, or even waiting for translations.
It’s quite troublesome to have people asking for us to hurry up and so on when they are not contributing to the process.
Again–this cannot be stressed enough–do not ask about status. We will keep you up-to-date as much as we can. [top]

I love you guys. So much. How can I help?
You can help by becoming our slave!
Kidding.
But seriously, you can help us out by donating, or even joining the team! We are in serious need of translators (Japanese > English) no matter what, and cleaners as well. But if these things don’t tickle your fancy, you can just leave a (nice) comment.
Your support is what keeps us going! [top]

Will you scanlate blah such-and-such series?
That depends. Do you have good quality RAWs? Do you have translations/a translator? Is it in Japanese, Chinese, or Korean?
There are certain elements that go into scanlations, and certain necessities that we must have in order to complete them.
A good site that you can use to refer us to the manga, or verify information with is www.mangaupdates.com.
Head over to the Manga Requests section to make a request!
Please make sure that you have good resources, and we will take it into consideration. [top]

How often does Sankarea come out?
Sankarea is officially released (READ: NOT IN ENGLISH. PUBLISHED IN JAPANESE. If you misinterpret even that, I can’t help you -_-) within the first week of every month, as published in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in Japan.
We don’t receive our raws until half-way through the month; or perhaps more appropriately, the latter half of the month.
From there, it takes the translator two weeks to translate…Yeah, she’s got a life besides translating. :x
Then it’s one week maximum to edit…which translates to:
Sankarea isn’t released until approximately one month after it’s been released in Japan.
In other words, 30 days between each release.

Long wait. We know.
